Saint Speckled and Freckled

Hey all!

Today I've got the second pairing that I previewed on my Instagram.

There's quite a few photos so let's just jump right in!

I had used this polish in a previous post but I thought it deserved a proper moment.
I love the whipping cream coloured base and I thought the little glitters were simply divine.
(Really easy removal too!)

Speckled and Freckled is great all on it's own but I wanted to jazz it up.

So I think these are definitely my favourite manicure
that I've done so far this year. Graphic and girly.

Fuchsia Squared

Hey all!
Yesterday I posted a preview of what was coming up on the blog on my instagram.
Today I've got the first of the two pairing.

Sally Hansen - Fuchsia Flare // Pretty and Polished - Back to the Fuchsia

I used Back to the Fuchsia in this previous post but
I wanted to incorporate it in a different way this time. So I paired it with a near identical colour.
Then I taped off some fun accents and let the thermal magic take over.

Now full disclosure: getting these colour changing shots was so difficult.
My body temperature is pretty high normally so most of the time they were only neon pink.
To get this purple I had to put my hands in freezing cold water for what felt like forever. So long that my hand went numb. But then whenever I tried to get to my normal manicure set up my hands would warm up and I'd miss the shot. So that's why Fuchsia Flare came out more salmon-y in the colour change photos. Bathroom lighting -.- Oh well. I still think they're pretty fab.

Fuchsia Floras

Hello friends! Quick post today.
Just wanted to share a new polish that I’ve slightly fallen in love with.




Say hello to Back to the Fuchsia by Pretty & Polished. Bright, fun, and oh so summer.  Personally I would have named this colour something like “Malibu Barbie Does Drag” or maybe “Barbie Vomit” but regardless I still love it. This polish was reaallly neon. The pictures don’t do it justice in the aspect but I’ve found that all of my neon polishes are rather hard to capture.



The decals are from Born Pretty Store and they were super cheap. These little flowers are sooo cute!
I can’t wait to try out the rest of them. Too many ideas spinning in my head!



BUT perhaps the most amazing thing about this polish is that IT CHANGES COLOUR. Yes, that’s right. The colour changes depending on the temperature. This baby went from bright neon pink to a vibrant purple. It was really hard to take a photo of the purple colour because I’m always warm, but I still managed to capture it before it disappeared.

So what do you think? Love it?

7 Deadly Sins Challenge: Day 3

Hey everyone!
So here’s another round of the Seven Deadly Sins Challenge. We’ve moved on from lust and now we’re onto gluttony. Today’s prompt was to “delight yourself with a Sugar Spun manicure”. I’ve never done a Sugar Spun before so this was definitely something new for me to try. Here’s what I came up with :

I used Pretty & Polished – Speckled and Freckled as my base
& OPI – I Saw, You Saw, We Saw Warsaw to do the sugar spun.


  

This was definitely a lot trickier to do than I though it would be. But I think I figured out how to do it properly so next time around it’ll definitely be easier to do. What do you think? Let me know! & remember to check out the other fabulous ladies!

Pink Mardi Party

Hello again!

Welcome to yet another blog post.
This past week I got together with Jeeb from In Jeeb We Trust
and we found ourselves what appears to be a new hobby – making jewellery!
Yes it sounds crazy and we did go a little crazy by making as many as we could
but it was so much fun and I definitely think we’ll be doing it again.
Actually, now that we’ve opened that Pandora’s box, we’ll probably never stop.
Unless we get so old that we can’t use our hands and
I’ll have to force my future children into helping us out. 
I’ll make them work for free (because duh they love me right?)
& they’ll have to say “yes mam” a lot and bow when we enter.
There may also be a whip involved or at least a pair of elderly women
smacking their canes on the ground when they are unsatisfied.
Actually since we can’t use our hands we’ll probably just yell or bite or perhaps we’ll cry...
Soooo good luck future children! Mama loves you!

Now onto more pressing business: my nails. 
All that crafting sparked quite a bit of creativity and in homage to all the beautiful jewellery we made (and will make!) I sought inspiration for today’s manicure from one of the pieces.
And yes I will make you scroll all the way to the bottom to see it (muahaha).



You might not be able to tell but there’s actually a very subtle gradient.

I used Zoya – Gie Gie for the base and
then I combined both Gie Gie & Essie – Lion Around for the gradient.
I added Pretty & Polished – Mardi Party to make it more fun.



I’ve used both Gie Gie and Lion Around before and
they are both really wonderful pinks to use.
(Sorry, totally just got a Grease reference stuck in my head,
“Pinks you punk. Pink slips, ownership papers!”)
Gie Gie is way more frosty and Lion Around is more creme-y,
but thankfully the colours did what I wanted and the gradient is very subtle.



& just look at that Mardi Party! This one is super fun.
Multi coloured random sized bits in a clear base is how I would describe it. I can’t decide though if it reminds me more of Mardi Gras (hence the name I’m assuming..) or a preschool craft day. Regardless, I love the look of this polish. Only downside: the base is a little goopy so if you do buy it make sure you’re aware of that. I found the best way to ensure getting the bits out was to shake the bottle before hand, put on a thin layer of it at first, and then put a small blob on and spread it out to wherever you need more glitter. It really wasn’t that hard to work with though, really it’s like any glitter, all you need is patience and persistence my friends!
