Pink Pegasus

Did you ever take a course on mythology?
Some of the most memorable courses that I took in university had some aspect of mythology / ancient
influence and it always made my brain tingle. All it takes is a good story and I'm hooked.
I love that stories and myths transcend time. A window into a past we can never visit.

Yellow and Grey N/OOTD

Hey all!
Hope you had a great weekend and if you're a mom well then I hope you had a great day.
I took my mom to a great park filled with flowers and beautiful views.
We sat on a shaded bench by the large fountain and relaxed.
Later I made cocktails and we watched a movie and the season finale of one of our favourite shows.
Oh, and of course I did her nails.

I'll be sharing my mother's day look with you guys later this week,
but for now here's my second entry into the MoYou Nail Art Challenge.
This is Day 12: OOTD

Deborah Lippmann - Amazing Grace // Sally Hansen - Butter-fly Stroke
A England - King Arthur // MoYou - Sailor Plate 06
& the shirt is from bebe

When I first used this DL I was so disappointed in the formula.
But something magical happened in the year that I haven't used it - the formula improved!
I couldn't believe it.

Sorry I went a little picture crazy but I really liked these.
Let me know what you think below!
I'll see you Friday.

Wicked Games On Silver Wings

Hey friends! First off let’s address the obvious – my blog layout has undergone a bit of an overhaul.
I know I do this quite often but I’ve been searching for a cleaner and more cohesive layout and I finally
figured out how I wanted it. I still have a few things I want to fix (i.e. my subscription buttons) but
overall I’m really happy. Do you like the changes? Let me know, I’m curious to hear your thoughts.

Now onto more important business – my mani. If you’ve been reading my blog you’ll how that I
celebrated my birthday two weeks ago. With birthdays come gifts. And what do my friends get me?
Nail polish of course. So here’s a look I did using 2 new polishes:

The first polish I used for my mani was Deborah Lipmann – Wicked Game.

The second polish I used was Novel Nail Polish – On Silver Wings.

Wicked Game is a beauty of a duo-chrome. It would shift from purple to silver to green. The formula
on this was great unlike my Amazing Grace by DL, which made me very happy. Dry time was great too.
Most of the time my nails were a purple-y silver colour and I quite enjoyed how it paired with the glitter.

The glitter looked like broken glass pieces when put on WG. Which I loved because there’s something slightly off and
wonderful about the idea of holographic glass. I will say that the formula was a little thick though so I only used one coat and
did my best  to get large pieces which thankfully wasn't too hard. I love the big hexagons!
Also, the removal of this glitter was super easy. I forgot to use my Glitter A-Peel
base coat so I can tell you first hand that the glitter came off very quickly with acetone.

Thank you to Gee & Steff for these beauties!
Make sure you check out Novel Nail Polish's Etsy Shop
to see some of her other great glitters. Until next time!

Much love, D.

7 Deadly Sins Challenge: Day 5

Hello!
Welcome to day 5 of the Deadly Sins Challenge. We’ve moved on from gluttony and now we’re onto greed. Today’s prompt was “Go wild and use your most expensive and precious polish”. I’ve had an idea about what I was going to do for this one for a little while now. Here it is:

For this look I used Deborah Lippmann – Amazing Grace
& piCture pOlish – O`Hara

I was so happy when I ordered Amazing Grace because it was the first DL polish I have ever purchased. But I`m so sad. It was streaky, watery, and really hard to work with. Thankfully I bought it on sale so I didn't pay retail price because I would have felt even more ripped off. I don`t understand how you can make twenty dollar polish and not have it be amazing (and then choose to call it amazing grace).

That`s all for now friends. Let me know what you think of these and make sure
to check out the other ladies greedy manicures.
I will see you again in a few days.
