Two Year Blogiversary! And a Giveaway!

Woot Woot! It's my 2 year blogiversary today friends!
Although, I have to say, it doesn't feel like it's been two years at all.
With every passing milestone we're told to reflect and to see how much we've grown.
I think in the last two years my photos have vastly improved - when I look back now at the photos I used in the beginning I tend to cringe. Why oh why did I think using a blurry cellphone camera photo was appropriate? I've also learned a lot about the blogging community as a whole. It's like an entire world nobody understands until they go down the rabbit hole and start a blog. There's great people; there's some crazy talented people; and there's also some crazy whack jobs too. But with all the nonsense that goes on there's still so much support. Thank you to all my loyal followers and to all of you who make this crazy nail art roller coaster so much fun. Couldn't have done it without you. Now let's keep this crazy train going with a mani and a giveaway!!

O.P.I - My Vampire is Buff / Kiss Me on my Tulips / Sprung

Watermarbles are so the key to my heart right now, and this one is no exception.
My boyfriend thought I painted in Sprung after I was done - but no! that's all decal baby.
I ended up freehanding some fleurs too because I broke one of the decals but I still think they're fun.
Let me know what you think!

Now onto the giveaway!

Sour Iris

After seeing this water marble manicure by In Jeeb We Trust I was inspired to dip
my feet back into the colourful waters of water marbling.
Took me a longgggg time since it's been so hot here in Vancouver but I was quite happy with the results.

7 Deadly Sins Challenge: Day 14

Hello friends!
Today I have a very special mani for you: the final manicure of the Seven Deadly Sins Challenge.
I still can’t believe it’s done. It went by so fast!

The prompt for this look was: This is YOUR time! Brag about how good you are at…

& here’s what I came up with:

I had a bit of a hard time deciding what technique I think I’m good at.
I ended up choosing water marbling. Most people like to make their water marble’s
have a consistent pattern, but I like to make every one unique.
Why? Well, when I look at marble slabs I see more of a consistency in the colours found
on each slab rather than the pattern. Each piece is special.
Therefore, when I water marble I like to make each digit similar but unique.

I did a base of Essie – Aruba Blue instead of the typical white base because
I wanted this look to scream blue. Then I did the water marbling with Essie – Blanc,
China Glaze – Sunday Funday, & Essie – Aruba Blue.

I’m sad this challenge is over, but I’m glad I got to be a part of it!
Make sure to check out the other ladies final looks and
to send some support their way. Until next time!

Fondue Inspired Water Marble

Hello!

So I had mentioned in my previous post that I was going out with InJeebWeTrust.
We went for tea and fondue at Capstone tea & fondue
and decided to theme our nails for the occasion.

Each of us was to pick an item off the menu to be inspired by.
I ended up being inspired a photo of a cheesecake that
they have up on their website (which didn't end up on our tray).
From what I could tell it was a berry cheesecake
so I took my love for purple and rolled with it.

I used Sally Hasen Insta-Dri - Beige Blast as my base colour.
Then for the actual water marble I used Maybelline Express Finish - Plum Intense
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Pronto Purple, & Maybelline Color Show - Porcelain Party

Water Marble is quite a bit of work but
I really love how it turned out.
Each nail is like a different slice of cake!

That's all for now.
Feel free to comment and
let me know which is your favourite nail!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
And make sure to check out InJeebWeTrust
to see what she did with her inspiration.

December Nails 2012 Theme 10: Water Marble

Hey Lovelies.

Remember when I left one theme open for you guys?
Well I decided to go with water marble and to see what I could do with it.
Personally I love the result. The colours really work nice together and I love that each finger is unique.
Let me know what you think!
