With a Shotgun in Her Hand

Hey everyone!
Happy Friday.

First up here's a song to emulate what I've been feeling
lately now that the days are getting warmer.
Can't help but groove to this.

And now here's my latest splatter manicure!

Joe Fresh - Faded Violet // Iris // Cloud
Essie - Licorice

So what do you think? I love how the colours work together.
The gun needs a little work but I still liked it. Just dipping my toes into freehand art again.

See on Monday.

Zoya London Swatch & Mani

Hey everyone!

Apologies for not posting much in the past few days.
Things have been a little hectic and I was unable to post this earlier.

First off I wanted to show you one of Zoya's Pixie Dusts.
I was beyond excited to work with these since I heard so
many great things and, of course, the swatches I saw were beautiful.
I purchased London (seen below) and Godiva (which I'll be using in a future post).
I wore the nail art mani first but wanted to be able to see
the full effect of the pixie dust so I have been wearing this the past few days.

London is beautiful. It's a dusty grey that really sparkles.
If I had to recommend one collection to try out this year it would definitely be the pixie dusts.
Especially the upcoming spring collection.
I applied this without base coat as is recommended and there's no top coat.
I feel like if you're going to go for the textured polish why would you even bother covering it up?

Next up is a mani I did for a concert I went to this past weekend.
I used China Glaze - Hey Doll, Zoya - London, and a Quo stripper in black.

My boyfriend gave me this idea and I really like it.
Not too complex but still looks interesting.

Well that's all for now.
Next post will be a Saint Patty's Day mani.
Hopefully what I have planned turns out.

Enjoy the rest of your week!!

Zesty Sunday Funday

Hey all!

This mani is a fun one - literally.
InJeebWeTrust recently bought some super cute
fruit decals and she was kind enough to share with me.
So I was thinking about which one to use
and I just could not resist the grapefruit slices.
Then I realized I had a stamping plate that had fruits on it.
So I went to my trusty plate set and
low and behold there was indeed a citrus stamp!

I decided to pair the fruit slices with a colour that it would pop against.
I picked OPI - Sunday Funday from their latest Avant Garden collection.
For the stamp I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On
because it's thick and fills all the grooves on the
plate and transfers onto the stamp really well.
Then I topped it all off with the adorable decals!

I'm so happy with how these turned out.
They're fun and super bright.
Sunday Funday is an awesome shade of blue.
As soon as I put it on I fell in love.

Let me know what you think!

Gie Gie With Some Zuzz

Hello friends!

Today's post went a little girly...
I wanted to use one of my polishes from the Zoya Lovely collection
& I ended up choosing Gei Gei.
(chances you said that with a French accent are pretty good I'm guessing.)

I paired Gei Gei with some glitter that gradients from pink to purple to black.

Gei Gei is a frosty pink, not something I typically enjoy
but I sort of fell in love with the swatches so I gave it a go.
& must say Gie Gie is pretty darn gorgeous.
Especially in the sun.

Let me know what you think below!
Until next time,

Fondue Inspired Water Marble

Hello!

So I had mentioned in my previous post that I was going out with InJeebWeTrust.
We went for tea and fondue at Capstone tea & fondue
and decided to theme our nails for the occasion.

Each of us was to pick an item off the menu to be inspired by.
I ended up being inspired a photo of a cheesecake that
they have up on their website (which didn't end up on our tray).
From what I could tell it was a berry cheesecake
so I took my love for purple and rolled with it.

I used Sally Hasen Insta-Dri - Beige Blast as my base colour.
Then for the actual water marble I used Maybelline Express Finish - Plum Intense
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Pronto Purple, & Maybelline Color Show - Porcelain Party

Water Marble is quite a bit of work but
I really love how it turned out.
Each nail is like a different slice of cake!

That's all for now.
Feel free to comment and
let me know which is your favourite nail!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
And make sure to check out InJeebWeTrust
to see what she did with her inspiration.

Hockey Night Gradient

Hey!

So I've had an awesome last few days. I had a great anniversary
with my boyfriend (5 years!!) and then over the
weekend I did a little shopping and went to a hockey game.
I recently bought OPI - I Saw..You Saw.. We Saw.. Warsaw
from OPI's newest collection and I figured the hockey game
would be a good time to pull it out since
the team I support has blue jerseys.

I ended up deciding to do a gradient which ended
up looking more aztec-y and dip dye-ish (totally not words..)
but! It turned out alright. Super easy too!

I paired Warsaw with Zoya - Charlize.

Right hand..

Left hand..

Let me know what you think below!
My next mani will be a fun one.
I'm going out with InJeebWeTrust and we decided to theme our nails.
That's all the info you're getting for now since I don't want to give too much away.
Post should be up Friday if all goes as planned.

P.S. Here's a partial outfit post from what I wore out to dinner.
I say partial because I was stupid and didn't take the photo
with my shoes or leather jacket on. Oh well.
If you like the idea of more outfit posts let me know
because if there's a demand I'll definitely
do more AND I'll do a better job. I swear.

Have an awesome week!

Sparkly Valentine

Hello everyone!

Hope you had a good week and a great Valentine's Day.
If you didn't celebrate well then I hope you had an awesome Thursday!

As mentioned before, this mani was the one I would wear for
my anniversary so I definitely wanted to make it a little more glitzy.
Boyfriend made me dinner last night since I had a midterm
at the end of the day so I didn't want to go out.
Tonight though we're going out to make up for it
& I've decided to post the outfit I wore in my next post.

Anyways! Back to the nails...
To set the mood once again,a little bit of MJ:

I used Maybelline Color Show - Bold Gold
piCture pOlish - O'Hara
& then I used gold glitter to do the design.

O'Hara is super gorgeous. It definitely differs from
piCture pOlish's other fabulous red Dorothy.
This one is a lot brighter, more of a bright cherry red.
And the glitter is a bit more subtle.

Right hand.....
Left hand (the gold on my index finger looks waayyy better in reality.) ....
Bottle Comparison.

These were a lot of fun to do and I would definitely recommend
you try using glitter if you have the patience for it.
I can't wait to see how far I can push myself by using them.
Sound off in the comments and let me know what you think!
Next post will be on Monday!

Sweet Valentine

Hey everyone!

So for part 2 of my triple shot of love I decided to go sweet.
For me that means brighter colours and keeping it simple.
Scroll on down and tell me what you think.

To set the mood:

For these nails I used Revlon - Mad About Mango,
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Pink Blink,
& Maybelline Color Show - Porcelain Party.

My favourite part? The fact that I used a scented Revlon polish.
I wouldn't say it smells exactly like mangos,
more like super sugary candy that's mango flavoured.
They smell awesome!!
I wish there was a way I could demonstrate it to you.
If you're interested in trying out the Revlons I would highly
recommend it. I own 2 and they both have really great scents.

I feel like the scent really adds to the theme. Do you agree?
Feel free to comment!
Next post will be on Friday.
Enjoy your week!!

Sultry Valentine

Hello!

So here we go, part one of my triple shot of love challenge.
For this look I wanted to use darker colours because
that's what I picture when I think "sultry".

But I kept it PG, I swear.

First, I was thinking about having a different song go along with
each theme so here is Darlin' Darlin' by Pillowfight to set the mood.

Now on to the nails!!

I figured it was the perfect opportunity to use
OPI - Stay The Night from the Mariah Carey collection.
Special shout out to InJeebWeTrust for lending me this polish, I was dying to try it.
I also used L'Oreal Paris - After Hours on each of my ring fingers.

I love them. The texture of the liquid sand is awesome.
& that sparkle!! I die.

Let me know what you think!

Triple Shot of Love

Hello lovelies!
So I came up with a little mini series.
Surprise! It's for Valentine's Day. (Insert gasp here!)
It'll be a series of three posts.

A Triple shot of love, my loves.

Each is a different theme (duhh) but each one must include a heart.
It is the main symbol associated with the day after all, although I
always wondered why we draw it the way we do when really
it's a giant pulsing muscle-y lump. Oh well.

I must admit I have a soft spot for the holiday because for me it's really
all about my anniversary (insert cheesy love song here).
So day 3 will be extra special.
Let me know if you'd be interested in a partial outfit post because I'm considering it.

Day 1 - Sultry Valentine
Day 2 - Sweet Valentine
Day 3 - Sparkly Valentine

Look forward to the first post tomorrow!

Logan + Birthdays

Hey everyone!

Yesterday was my boyfriend's birthday and we're continuing the celebration tonight so I knew I needed to do a special mani for the weekend.

I asked him for inspiration and all I got was that he wanted me to use my Zoya - Logan since it shares his name. I was left on my own after that.
Logan is a beautiful deep shade of green with lots and lots of gold and light green sparkle.
I spent a lot of time just trying to figure out what colours I should accent it with because I really did NOT want it to go Christmas-y.
I ended up pulling out my dotting tools and doing a side french in 2 colours: Wet n Wild Fast Dry - Silvivor and Wet n Wild Megalast - Bird Bath.
Take a look see and let me know what you think!

Saint George Sparkles

Hello lovelies.

Today I have a super beautiful polish from a england called Saint George.
It's an amazing teal colour that has super tiny shimmery holo sparkles.
This is a must buy. Pictures do not even begin to show how perfect this colour is.
I didn't want my nail art to outshine the polish so I kept it simple by just
adding Razzmatazz by Top Shop to the tips
(this is another must buy, opaque and super duper sparkly).
Now go ahead and take a looks see, and let me know what you think.

Happy Monday!
