Neon Rain

Down on the West Coast...

we've been having a heat wave.
And, literally, if you're not drinking then you're not playing.
I've been guzzling down water like nobodies business.
I've had the side effects of heat stroke before and let's just say it ain't fun.

I've been craving a stampacure and when I saw the little rain droplets
on my MoYou London plate I just knew I had to use them.

Green Tea

Hey there!
So last week I had the most desperate desire for high tea.
I knew that there was only one person who would truly understand so
I hit up Gee from In Jeeb We Trust, and we decided to try out a
new spot rather than our usual hideout on Main Street.
And how was it? Well it was quite possibly the girliest place I've ever been to.
Pink everything. Soft music. The most precious tea set with all the right accessories.
And the food was seriously outstanding. Best cucumber sandwich I've ever had in my life!
If you live in Vancity and love a unique tea experience definitely try out Patisserie Fur Elise.
Then take photos and share them and make me insanely jealous.

Now onto the manicure I wore!

Pink Teacup

Hey there!

Today's post is inspired by a teacup I received from my mom way back when for my sixteenth birthday.
Here's the pattern on the rim of the cup and of the saucer. Dainty and delicate, no?

L'oreal - I Pink I'm In Love // Maybelline - Bold Gold

I received this pink as a super early birthday gift from my childhood best friend who
came back home for a week. When I came home I had tea in this tea/saucer set and the idea sparked.

The formula of this polish was a little watery but it was fairly easy to work with.
And I love this shade of pink. Lady-like glamour.

Thanks for stopping by friends. Hope your week goes smoothly.
See you Friday!

Purple Reign

Hey there!
Hope you're having better weather than I am wherever you are.
Honestly, the rain doesn't bother me. I live in Vancouver. It comes with the territory.
I was just fooled by the few pretty days we had into thinking that Spring was Summer.

So to help brighten up this dreary day I wanted to share
another 2 in 1 post featuring two looks using my favourite colour - purple.

----------------------------------

The Rich Love Diamonds

Zoya - Aurora // Essie - Set in Stones

This manicure was so simple but I loved it so so much.
Aurora is holographic bliss and I love this Essie glitter topper.
Like diamond snowflakes.

----------------------------------

The Royal Wave

Sephora X - Fierce // Maybelline - Bold Gold
MoYou - Suki Collection 05

I haven't done all that much stamping lately but I just knew this combo was worth it.
Once I tried it on one finger I wanted it on every digit.
I was really pleased with the overall effect.

----------------------------------

Let me know what you think!
Have a great weekend everyone.

Orange you creative?

Hey ladies and gents!

Been a little while. Sorry for that. Last week just ran away from me.
But I figured I'd start this week off right and crank out another 2 in 1 post.
Better late then never.

Both of today's looks feature Cult Nails - Be Loco as the main attraction.
As a girl who isn't exactly in love with the colour orange I have to say I was smitten with this polish.
It didn't clash with my fair skin tone and I loved the vibrancy of this particular shade.

Loco for Tinsel

Cult Nails - Be Loco // Ciate - Tinsel Town

----------------------------------

Orange Cocktail

Cult Nails - Be Loco // Maybelline - Cocktail Dress
Quo Instant Artist - Black / White

I wore this mani for a heavy metal concert I went to with some of my familia.
Heavy Metal is not necessarily my music of choice (go figure) but I have to say I had lots of fun.
There's nothing like a band giving their all on their last night.
You could feel the music pulsating through the room and crawling up into your brain.

Thanks for stopping by. See you in a few!

Holiday Mani-Madness Day 3

Merry Christmas everyone!
Today I have day 3 of Holiday Mani Madness to share.
This look was inspired by these purple tree candles that I have sitting on my nail polish box.
I use the top tray as a display case/center piece on my desk and when I found these trees at the dollar store I just knew they'd be perfect. I should also add that the box was a gift from my boyfriend. It's nice to have a man who can build things.

Essie - Meet Me at the Altar // Northern Lights Silver Holographic Topcoat
Snow: Maybelline - Porcelain Party
Dark Purple Trees: China Glaze - Are You Jelly? // Esmaltes de Kelly - Wolfsbane
Light Purple Trees: Sally Hansen - Raspberry Race // Zoya - Stevie

Let me know what you think of this look in the comments!
Also! I was intending to post Day 4 tomorrow but unfortunately I used
Nail Pattern Boldness - Glitter a peel basecoat and my manicure
peeled before I had the time to photograph it properly :(
I will still be posting a different look but I have to postpone till Friday.
So I'll see you Friday!

Have a very Merry Christmas friends! <3

Fondue Inspired Water Marble

Hello!

So I had mentioned in my previous post that I was going out with InJeebWeTrust.
We went for tea and fondue at Capstone tea & fondue
and decided to theme our nails for the occasion.

Each of us was to pick an item off the menu to be inspired by.
I ended up being inspired a photo of a cheesecake that
they have up on their website (which didn't end up on our tray).
From what I could tell it was a berry cheesecake
so I took my love for purple and rolled with it.

I used Sally Hasen Insta-Dri - Beige Blast as my base colour.
Then for the actual water marble I used Maybelline Express Finish - Plum Intense
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Pronto Purple, & Maybelline Color Show - Porcelain Party

Water Marble is quite a bit of work but
I really love how it turned out.
Each nail is like a different slice of cake!

That's all for now.
Feel free to comment and
let me know which is your favourite nail!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
And make sure to check out InJeebWeTrust
to see what she did with her inspiration.

Sparkly Valentine

Hello everyone!

Hope you had a good week and a great Valentine's Day.
If you didn't celebrate well then I hope you had an awesome Thursday!

As mentioned before, this mani was the one I would wear for
my anniversary so I definitely wanted to make it a little more glitzy.
Boyfriend made me dinner last night since I had a midterm
at the end of the day so I didn't want to go out.
Tonight though we're going out to make up for it
& I've decided to post the outfit I wore in my next post.

Anyways! Back to the nails...
To set the mood once again,a little bit of MJ:

I used Maybelline Color Show - Bold Gold
piCture pOlish - O'Hara
& then I used gold glitter to do the design.

O'Hara is super gorgeous. It definitely differs from
piCture pOlish's other fabulous red Dorothy.
This one is a lot brighter, more of a bright cherry red.
And the glitter is a bit more subtle.

Right hand.....
Left hand (the gold on my index finger looks waayyy better in reality.) ....
Bottle Comparison.

These were a lot of fun to do and I would definitely recommend
you try using glitter if you have the patience for it.
I can't wait to see how far I can push myself by using them.
Sound off in the comments and let me know what you think!
Next post will be on Monday!

Sweet Valentine

Hey everyone!

So for part 2 of my triple shot of love I decided to go sweet.
For me that means brighter colours and keeping it simple.
Scroll on down and tell me what you think.

To set the mood:

For these nails I used Revlon - Mad About Mango,
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Pink Blink,
& Maybelline Color Show - Porcelain Party.

My favourite part? The fact that I used a scented Revlon polish.
I wouldn't say it smells exactly like mangos,
more like super sugary candy that's mango flavoured.
They smell awesome!!
I wish there was a way I could demonstrate it to you.
If you're interested in trying out the Revlons I would highly
recommend it. I own 2 and they both have really great scents.

Right Hand.....

Left hand....

I feel like the scent really adds to the theme. Do you agree?
Feel free to comment!
Next post will be on Friday.
Enjoy your week!!

Simple Center V Mani

Hey everyone!

This time I decided to use Maybelline - Wine and Dined from their colour show collection as my base colour and Sally Hansen - Grape Going! for the V. This was my first time using both of these colours as they have just been waiting to be used for months now. I love the colour of Wine and Dined but I have to say the colour pay off sucks. I had to do 2 decent coats for this mani and had I wanted to use it just on it's own I feel like I would have had to have done about 3-4 coats. But for this, because it was going to be mostly covered, it didn't really bother me. Grape Going! is actually pretty amazing. It is a duo chrome that goes from purple to blue depending on the light. It doesn't have a lot of shimmer though and it tended to stay blue in most light. Take a look at the photos to compare. But this would still look great on it's own. I also think it could be a fun stamp colour. All in all, I'm happy with how it turned out.

Feel free to sound off in the comments section & to post requests!
